Check the haul before the rate: the trucking cost between a site and the terminal it serves usually dwarfs the difference between two quoted rates. Filters map onto what actually disqualifies an option — category, lift capacity, power source — rather than onto adjectives.
Rates shown are indicative floors published by the operator. Signing in reveals the current rate, live availability and the direct operations contact, and lets you send one enquiry to several providers at once.
What is the difference between dry hire and wet hire?
Dry hire is the machine only — you supply a licensed operator and usually the fuel. Wet hire includes a trained operator, and often fuel and routine servicing. For short jobs or restricted sites, wet hire is normally cheaper once licensing and liability are priced in.
Who is liable if the equipment is damaged?
Typically the hirer, up to the excess on the damage waiver. Check whether a waiver is included, what it excludes (tyres, forks, overhead strikes are common carve-outs) and whether your own plant cover extends to hired-in equipment.
Do I need a licence to operate a forklift?
In most jurisdictions in this region, yes — a recognised operator certificate, and often a site-specific induction. Listings flag where a licence is required, and operators available for hire show the certificates they hold.
Is delivery included in the rate?
Usually not. Mobilisation and demobilisation are quoted separately and depend on distance and whether a low-bed trailer is needed. The listing shows the depot location so you can judge the haul before you ask.
